Donna Lee Holbrook, 71, of Rising Sun, MD passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 13, 2016. Born on July 25, 1945 in Newport News, VA, she was the daughter of the late Royal Shorter and Stella (Pedigo) West.

Donna retired from Terumo Medical as a chemical tech in 2004. She then went on to work for Sues Restaurant in Rising Sun and worked part time for Sun Pharmacy. Donna enjoyed travelling to Top Sail, NC every September to spend time with her sisters-in-laws and girlfriends. She loved spending time with her family and her two best friends – her Boston Terriers, Gabby and Daisy.

Donna is survived by her sons: Marvin J. Holbrook and his wife, Kimberly, of West Grove, PA, and Norman E. Holbrook and his wife, Jennifer, of Elkton, MD; daughter, Elizabeth D. Fanslow and her husband, Richard, of Tampa, FL; brothers: Gene Shorter and his wife, Sandy, of Rising Sun, MD, and Pete Shorter and wife, Freda, of Villages, FL; seven grandchildren: Megan Denson, Kyle Boyle, Kaitlyn Jester, Lukas Holbrook, Zachary Holbrook, Blake Holbrook, and Amanda Weer; and ten great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Donna is preceded in death by her husband, Richard J. Holbrook; brother, James H. Shorter; and sister, Stella Mae Osborne.

A celebration of Donna’s life will be held at 11am on Friday, November 18, 2016 at Conowingo Baptist Church, 151 Rock Springs Road, Conowingo, MD 21918, with a visitation beginning at 10am. Burial will follow at Conowingo Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made payable to “Conowingo Baptist Church” and sent in care of R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., P.O. Box 248, Rising Sun, MD 21911.
