Donald Leonard, 68, of Conowingo, MD, passed away peacefully November 23, 2011 at Elkton Care and Rehabilitation surrounded by his family.
Born in Street, MD on February 3, 1943, Donald was the son of the late James and Edith Leonard. He was a truck driver until his retirement. Donald loved to fish and play cards. He was an avid sports fan, especially the Baltimore Ravens and NASCAR. He adored his grandchildren and will be dearly missed by his family and many friends.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Louise Jennings Leonard; two sons Donald Leonard and his wife Pam of Rising Sun, Paul Leonard and his wife Dawn of Colora; six grandchildren, Kyle, Kaitlyn, and Cole Leonard, Emilie Weldy, Cody and Garrett Leonard. Donald also leaves behind two sisters, Louise Hall of TN and Ann Weaver of MD; and three brothers, James of NC, Charles of PA and Raymond Leonard of MD. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Helen Chesnut and Shirley Mitchell.
A service honoring his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday November 29, 2011 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 S. Queen St., Rising Sun, MD 21911. Friends and family may call at the funeral home beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be at Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery. Charitable contributions in Donald’s memory may be made to Elkton Care and Rehabilitation c/o the funeral home.
