Donald Alan Settlemyre

Donald Alan Settlemyre, age 61 of Perryville, MD passed away on August 15, 2024. He was born on January 12, 1963 in Elkton, MD to the late David George, Sr. and Kathryn Lee (McCall) Settlemyre.

Donald was a very hard-working man who loved to joke around with family and friends. He was known to tease those who he truly cared for. Donald loved his family and provided abundantly for them. His smile and kind spirit lit up a room. Donald worked for Keen Compressed Gas for 31 years and did lawn care for 18 years. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed tinkering in the garage and bringing home a new project, anything from a fork lift to a merry-go-round. Donald was a visionary and had many plans to fix and transform his findings. He had many skills and was a jack of all trades. Many will remember him as a loving and caring man. He didn’t know a stranger and his family couldn’t go anywhere that he didn’t run into someone who knew him, even all the way to Florida when they were on vacation.

Donald is survived by his wife of 39 years, Cyndi Settlemyre; children: Gary Alan Settlemyre, Samuel Ivan Settlemyre (Sarah), and Holly Jean Settlemyre; siblings: Robert Lee Settlemyre, Mary Ann Settlemyre, and Joyce Ann Sweetman; sister-in-laws; brother-in laws; nieces; and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in the death by his siblings: Carolyn Lee Terry and David George Settlemyre, Jr.

A celebration of Donald’s life will be held in the future once his son can return home from the military. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to “Cecil County Animal Services” and sent in care of R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., P.O. Box 248, Rising Sun, MD 21911.
