Dixie Grove, age 92 of Rising Sun, MD, passed away Sunday, August 20, 2017. Born September 22, 1924 in Kimper, KY, Dixie was the daughter of the late Amos May and the late Wanie (Ellis) Allen.

Dixie is survived by her daughter Dorris Jean Webb and her husband, Irvin; two grandchildren: Amos Webb and his two children, and Josh Webb and his wife, Paula, and their two children; grandson-in-law, Robert Meadows, and his three children; step-son Robert Grove, Jr. and his wife, Barbara. Including her parents, Dixie was preceded in death by her husband of twenty years, Bob Grove, Sr.; granddaughter, Kaye Meadows; brother, Donald May; and her sisters: Beatrice Varney and Bessie Samborski.

A visitation will be held from 10am to 12pm on Monday, August 28, 2017 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 S. Queen St., Rising Sun, MD 21911. Burial will follow the visitation at Brookview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to “Dorris Jean Webb” to help with medical and funeral expenses and sent in care of the funeral home.

I met Dixie when I would bring my husband to dialysis. We discovered we had the love of quilting in common. Dixie always had the heart of hospitality when I visited her in her apartment or in the senior home. I enjoyed hearing her stories and sharing laughter. May God and sweet memories bring comfort to her family.
