Denise Lois Markhorst age 65 of Newark, DE, passed away on Monday, July 17, 2023. She was born on September 20, 1957, in Philadelphia, PA to the late Gerald Thomas Organ, and to Lois June (Arnold) Organ.

Denise was a kind gentle woman who enjoyed gardening and classic rock music. She had a great passion and love for animals. Denise enjoyed golf, spending time at the beach in Wildwood, NJ. She loved the Irish color green. Denise will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.

Denise is survived by her husband, Harry Markhorst; mother, Loise June Organ; stepchildren: Harry Markhorst, Jr., Nicole DeRose, and Amanda Markhorst; sisters: Melissa Markhorst, and Jennifer Woodeshick; eight step-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild.

Denise is preceded in death by her father, Gerald Thomas Organ; sister, Collen Organ; and brother, Daniel Organ.

A celebration of Denise’s life will be held at 11 am on Monday, July 24, 2023, at R.T. Foard & Jones, Inc., 122 W. Main Street, Newark, DE where family and friends may begin visiting at 10 am. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to the “All Our Love Animal Rescue” Northern DE in care of R.T. Foard & Jones Funeral Home, 122 W.
