Debra A. Lane, 55, of Rising Sun, MD, passed away at her home May 30, 2013 surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with breast cancer.
Born in Sewickley, PA on June 26, 1957, Debbie was the daughter of the late Paul and Anna Mary Anderson Gardner and preceded in death by father Detmar McCullough. She was a graduate of Ambridge High School and worked at Benjamin’s store for many years. She loved the beach, was an avid BINGO player. Debbie will be remembered as a devoted and loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother. She will be dearly missed by her family and many friends.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 32 years, Bobby Lane; two daughters, Melonie Hopkins Stewart and her husband Eric; and Heidi McGrady and her husband Harvey (J.R.); four grandchildren, Kimberly Holbrook, Jacob Stewart, Cody and Austin McGrady; a sister Cindi Serago and her husband Ken and two brothers, P.J. and Gary Gardner, her compassionate father in law Pop-pop John Lane, whose loving support and kind words helped Debbie through the years, and her dear longtime friend Nancy Wiggins.
A service honoring her life will be held at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 S. Queen St., Rising Sun, MD 21911 on Monday June 3, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. Friends and family may call at the funeral home Sunday June 2 from 3 – 5 pm or one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in West Nottingham Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Community Fire Company of Rising Sun c/o the funeral home.
