Deborah K. Romig, age 65, of Townsend DE, passed away on Monday, May 18, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 15, 1949 in Coaldale, PA to Edwin O. and Dorothy (Hoffman) Rex.
Deborah worked as an administrator for 19 years at the Brickman Group. She loved to ride motorcycles, and spend time at her home on Keuka Lake in New York. Her greatest joy however came from being a grandmother, loving and caring for her grandchildren, who will miss her dearly.
She is survived by her husband of 45 plus years, William “Bill” Romig; daughter, Christy Spencer and her husband, Robert of Collingswood, NJ; son, Craig Romig and wife, Kristen, of Collingswood, NJ; daughter, Carey Sambogna and husband, Paul of Woolwich, NJ; her parents, Edwin O. and Dorothy Rex, of Newark, DE; brother, Doug Rex and wife, Christina, of Newark, DE; and 5 grandchildren; John, Hailey, Jack, Gillian and Liam.
A Life Celebration will be held from 6-8PM on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at R.T. Foard & Jones Funeral Home, Inc., 122 W. Main Street, Newark, DE 19711. Friends and family are encouraged to share stories, memories and celebrate Deborah’s Life. Burial will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution checks can be made to “Camp Good Days and Special Times” and sent c/o the funeral home.

I am very sorry to hear of Mrs. Romig's passing. She holds a very special place in my heart. I knew her many years back when I was a young girl and the Romig family moved next door to us on Court St. She took me in and added me to her little pack of kids. She was always kind and generous. I learned how to make chocolate covered bananas and many arts and crafts projects. The library was always a fun trip to watch old movies or just read. As a young girls, all of these things were fun to do. As an adult with my own children, I now know, what I knew then...How important those memories were to make.
