Deborah Dorgay Powell, age 76, of Rising Sun, MD, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 30, 2026. She was born on June 8, 1950 in New Albany, IN to the late Paul Francis Dorgay and Margaret (Hayworth) Dorgay.
Deb was a kind and loving woman whose generous spirit touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her. She had a giving nature and a truly big heart, always willing to offer her time, her care, and her love to others. For 55 wonderful years, Deb shared her life with her beloved husband, Bill. Their enduring marriage was a beautiful testament to love, devotion, and a lifetime of memories made together. Deb found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially window shopping for antiques. She loved discovering the beauty and stories hidden in old treasures, taking time to admire the unique pieces and imagine the lives they had touched. Above all, Deb will be remembered for the warmth she brought into the lives of others. Her kindness, generosity, and loving heart will remain in the memories of her family and friends, who will miss her deeply and carry her spirit with them always.
Deb is survived by her husband, William “Bill” Howard Powell, Jr. and siblings: Susan Dorgay Mullins, Paula Dorgay Rotenberry, Daniel Dorgay, and Joseph Dorgay.
Services for Deb will be held privately.
