Dean Melvin Ragan, Jr., age 24, of West Plains, MO, passed away on February 6, 2018. Born on December 13, 1993 in Killeen, TX, he was the son of Dean Melvin, Sr. and Virginia Marie (McMullen) Ragan.

DJ worked proudly as an over the road truck driver for many years. He greatly enjoyed listening to music, cars, and was a huge fan of the Denver Broncos. DJ loved spending time with his friends and family, but his most cherished moments were those spent with his daughter, Chyain, the light of his life.

DJ is survived by his father, Dean Melvin Ragan, Sr. and his companion, Dawne Lucas; mother, Virginia Marie Ragan; daughter, Chyain Ragan; brother, Randy Ragan and his wife, Grace; half-sister, Kristina Halderman; paternal grandparents, Delilah and Bob Truslow; maternal grandmother, Monika McMullen; and several extended family members and friends. DJ was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Walter Ragan, Sr., and maternal grandfather, Lloyd McMullen.

A celebration of DJ’s life will be held at 12pm on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 S. Queen Street, Rising Sun, MD 21911, where friends and family may visit beginning at 11am. Burial will follow at Calvary Missionary Baptist Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to “Calvary Missionary Baptist Church” and sent care of the funeral home, PO Box 248, Rising Sun, MD 21911.

6 months have went bye and it feels like only yesterday we were together. They say time heels all wounds and that isn't true. I have my angel with me and I feel him watching over me. I always told him if anything every happened to him, Randy or Sis, my heart would go with them.
