Dawn Louise Madison, age 59, of Colora, MD, passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2021. She was born on January 20, 1962 in West Chester, PA to the late Robert V. Rice and Shirley Mae (Werkheiser) Rice.

Dawn was passionate about caring for others, exemplified in her career of many years as a nurse. She was a champion when it came to bargain shopping, and would often find “nifty gifties” for various events. Dawn enjoyed traveling and spending time at the beach with her family. During her free time, she would watch movies and put together puzzles. Dawn’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandbabies, who called her “Nanny”.

Dawn is survived by her husband of 40 years, Ron Lee Madison; son, Eric Madison and his wife, Amanda; daughter, Corinne Madison; two grandsons: Brooks and Kai; granddaughter, Reese; four sisters: Darlene Hoffecker, Donna Romer, Debbie Matthews, and Diane George; nieces and nephews: Brian, Jeremy, Tara, Timothy, Tyler, Travis, Shane, Hannah; sister-friend, Diana Davidson; former son-in-law, Karl Radergard; and dog, Barkley.

A celebration of life will be held at 1pm on Sunday, October 3, 2021 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, 111 South Queen Street, Rising Sun, MD 21911 where friends and family may begin visiting at 11am. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made payable to Eric Madison to help with funeral expenses.
