Dawn E. Miller Palmer, 39, of Rising Sun, MD passed away April 26, 2013 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center.
Born in Elkton, MD on May 4, 1973, Dawn was the daughter of the Calvin C. Miller and Ruth Forrester. A 1991 graduate of Rising Sun High School, Dawn became a hair stylist upon graduating and worked for various salons before opening The Whole Sha-Bang Salon which she owned and operated for the past 9 years. She was totally devoted to her children who were her world. An avid Baltimore Ravens fan, Dawn loved the water, boating and spending time at the beach, and most recently spent a vacation at Cancun. People will always remember her smile that would light up a room. She will be dearly missed by her family and many friends.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her children, Megan and Nicholas Palmer and Madyson Smith; her sister Keri Young of St. Cloud, FL; grandmother Nola Forrester; an aunt Ruth Price and her beloved fiancé Guy Butz of Rising Sun. She was preceded in death by her stepmother, Janet Miller.
A service honoring her life will be held at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 S. Queen St., Rising Sun, MD 21911 on Thursday May 2, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Friends and family may call at the funeral home Wednesday May 1 from 2-4 or 6-8 pm, or one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Rosebank Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Dawn’s Pride, a fund for her children c/o the funeral home.

Dawn, The last time I saw you was about a month ago when you cut Nick's mop. He was so mad that we ignored his instructions for just a "trim". So many memories, most of which we locked away so that our parents never found out LOL! I'll NEVER forget camping with your family in Western MD all summer...picking out stones for the front of the new house. You, Keri and me riding in the back of the pickup truck all the way there (with a cap, of course)...going to the auctions, bathing in the river, getting dirty and not having a care in the world. Back at your place, riding four-wheelers. You were so crazy, you drove like a mad-woman and I almost fell off and you ran over my leg. We thought it was broken so we snuck back into your house to see if the pain would go away because we didn't want to get in trouble. Turns out, we just scraped all of the skin off, no big deal :) You basically told me to suck it up. And the we were pulling Keri on the tube in the snow, you driving the four-wheeler and me sitting behind you when the rope snapped and welted my whole back side. Yeah, good times. We collected Swatch watches. Dressed alike (I do have pictures somewhere). Although we hadn't hung out in a while, I always knew you were there and you knew I was here. For each other, for always. I had the Honor to know Dawn in her younger years will Dawn and My Daughter became very good friends, Dawn spent many days at our Home as well as my Daughter Jill did at that home. So many memories, most of which we locked away so that our parents never found out LOL! I'll NEVER forget camping with your family in Western MD all summer...picking out stones for the front of the new house. You, Keri and me riding in the back of the pickup truck all the way there (with a cap, of course)...going to the auctions, bathing in the river, getting dirty and not having a care in the world. Back at your place, riding four-wheelers. You were so crazy, you drove like a mad-woman and I almost fell off and you ran over my leg. We thought it was broken so we snuck back into your house to see if the pain would go away because we didn't want to get in trouble. Turns out, we just scraped all of the skin off, no big deal :) You basically told me to suck it up. And the we were pulling Keri on the tube in the snow, you driving the four-wheeler and me sitting behind you when the rope snapped and welted my whole back side. Yeah, good times. We collected Swatch watches. Dressed alike (I do have pictures somewhere). Although we hadn't hung out in a while, I always knew you were there and you knew I was here. For each other, for always. I'll miss you. Love you your Mom, Dad, Keri, the kids...Guy, Dan and everyone else who is so deeply effected by you leaving so soon. Love you girl.

The void I'm feeling as I look out my office window and your car is not there. Remember, I'm the nosey salon neighbor that would text or call you if your car was not at the shop at 9am!
