Before total retirement, David was a successful real estate agent with Gilpen and Patterson Schwartz. He has been an enthusiastic sailor, in the waters of the Chesapeake, as well as an avid reader, exchanging books with his brother Bill. Through the years, he was a generous supporter of the U of D sports, in addition to attending many other activities on campus. He was also converted to cheering on his favorite Boston teams. He enjoyed travel, stamp collecting, camping with the boys, walking on the beach and in the mountains, and working on small building projects. Some of his favorite past times included playing with his various dogs and cats, and feeding the birds. Dave, to his many friends, will be surely missed and greatly remembered. With each passing life there is left behind something beautiful and remarkable.
