David Leonard Lane, Sr. age 84 of Rising Sun, MD passed away on November 30, 2025. He was born on June 3, 1941 in Baltimore, MD to the late Willard E. Lane and Mary E. (McGreevy) Lane.
Dave was a simple man who mostly kept to himself. He enjoyed playing card games, board games, and completing crossword puzzles. Dave loved his dogs and considered them a part of his family. In his younger years, Dave loved to go dancing and won several contests. He proudly served in the US Navy from 1958-1962. Although he enjoyed solitude and being home, he was the happiest when he was with his family. He was very family oriented and will be remembered as a great husband to his late wife, Lee, an awesome father, and a great brother.
Dave is survived by his children: Lisa Ann Pickle (Robert), Kelly Jean Tierney (John), and David L. Lane, Jr.; stepchildren: Kevin Phillips (Sharon) and Timothy Phillips (Kat); grandchildren: Robert E. Pickle, Jr., Tayler L. Welling, John M. Tierney, Jr., Katelyn Fauver, and Jason Lane; great grandchildren: Lillie Pickle, Jace Pickle, Owen Welling, Wyatt Tierney, Rhett Tierney, Teegan Fauver, Houston Fauver, and Jason Lane; and sister, Ann Grepps.
In addition to his parents, Dave is preceded in death by his wife, Lee Lane; sister, Patricia McWilliam; and brother, Richard Lane.
Services for Dave will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to “The Humane Society of Harford County” and sent in care of R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., P.O. Box 248, Rising Sun, MD 21911
