David Francis Grove, 72, a lifelong resident of Port Deposit, MD passed away suddenly at his home on Tuesday, January 5, 2016.
Born March 25, 1943 in Port Deposit, MD, Dave was the son of the late, Ferdinand A. Grove and Ella E. (Smith) Grove. He was a local home improvement contractor for more than forty years. Dave enjoyed hunting, decoy carving, model trains, NASCAR, and going to their cabin. Above all, Dave loved spending time with his family. Additionally, Dave was a member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.
Dave is survived by his loving wife, Emily Price Grove of fifty-four years; daughters: Penny Grove and Ellie Grove Magliaro; son, Danny Grove; six grandchildren: Samantha (Orr) Tull, Samantha (Grove) Hayden, Kiera Grove, Nicholas Magliaro, Dominic Magliaro, and Morgan Magliaro; and two great-grandchildren, Thomas Wenger Jr., Mason Tull; sisters, Irene Conover, Estelle C. Jensen, Bernadette Towson, and Janet Krekemeyer; brothers, Harold L. Grove, Ralph B. Grove, Sr., and William J. Grove; and a very large extended family.
Dave is preceded in death by his daughter, Sherry Lynn Grove; granddaughter, Rachel Lynn Orr; and 3 brothers, Charles H. Grove, Sr., Ferdinand A. Grove, Jr., and Franklin D Grove, Sr.
A visitation will be held at 1pm with a celebration of David’s life beginning at 3pm on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 S. Queen St., Rising Sun, MD 21911. Burial will follow at Asbury Cemetery in Port Deposit, MD. In addition to flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to “Pleasant View Baptist Church” and sent in care to the funeral home.
