David E. MacKenzie, age 69 of Elkton, MD passed away on December 30, 2018. He was born on January 3, 1949 in Chester, PA to George and Naomi (Thomas) MacKenzie.
David proudly served his country in the US Army and was a member of the American Legion. He worked as a metallurgist in ballistics research. One could say he was a gun enthusiast. David also enjoyed wood working and wood carving. He had a passion for boating and admired lighthouses.
David is survived by his wife of 49 years, Lucy (Giunta) MacKenzie; son, Steven MacKenzie and his wife, Karen of Newark, DE; daughters: Dawn Marie Steele and her husband Ken of Elkton, MD and Michele MacKenzie of Baltimore, MD; grandchildren: Jared and Christopher Steele; and two great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his brother, Bill MacKenzie and sister, Georgeann Joyner.
A visitation will be held on Monday, January 7, 2019 from 5-7:00 p.m. at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 259 East Main Street, Elkton, MD 21921. A celebration of David’s life will be held on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Family and friends may attend the visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m.
