David Caldwell Biddle, Sr., age 96, of Chesapeake City, MD, passed away on December 6, 2011 at Union Hospital. He was born on January 27, 1915 to the late Lorenzo and Margaret (Herman) Biddle.
David was a WW II Veteran and was decorated for serving campaigns in Normandy, Northern France and Rhineland.
Besides working at the DuPont Chamber Works for 20 years, he was an active life time member of the VFW and he served as the commander of the Chesapeake City post # 7687 from 1979-1982 and 1984-1990.
He is survived by his sons, David C. Biddle, Jr. of Kennett Square, PA and James L. Biddle and his wife, Nancy of Newark, DE; grandchildren, Jennifer Harnish (Marc), Stephen Biddle (Heather), Melissa Biddle, and Andrew Biddle; and great grandchildren, Colton Biddle, Isabella Biddle, Zachary Harnish, and Ethan Harnish.
David was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta T. Biddle in 1985.
At the request of the family, services will be private.
