Dave, You were a remarkable friend indeed. You will be missed tremendously Dave. I think I can probably remember all the stories shared at the island in your kitchen. But I have to be honest about one thing Jonsey... the day you came over and had to have the chili Ashley was cooking.... it was venison... Love you like a brother Jonsey. I miss you, rest in peace now. You are in a wonderful place. Dean McGrory

Dave was one of a kind...a loyal friend, trusted confidante, and a true Delaware original. Dave knew more about the nuances of Delaware politics than anyone I have known and committed himself totally to causes and candidates he believed in. Phone calls with Dave were always a joy and I marveled at his boundless energy and ideas. I will always remember his sense of humor and infectious laugh. God bless, my friend.
Mark Blake left a message on October 26, 2015:
"got a minute..." was Dave's opening line when he wanted to talk about an idea or thoughts he had about something, usually politics. He never let an opportunity pass by and had a quick wit about him that made the conversations enjoyable. We had lunch one day and after leaving the restaurant, noticed that his car had been "booted", not with 1 boot, but 2! Dave noted, "I guess they really, really want me to pay those tickets, huh?" He asked if I could give him a ride to the station and back so he could pay them off, and of course, he used the time to continue the conversation we had at lunch. God Speed Dave.
Jen and Jim Taylor left a message on October 26, 2015:
Rest easy Dave. You were a good and loyal friend to so many and I'll miss the endless lawyer jokes (appropriate as they may have been). Dave could always be trusted for a good idea (or several) and an even better laugh. You'll be missed my friend. Our condolences to the entire Jones family.

Mostly, we will remember the really good times at Pencader Charter and all the kids you helped. We will really miss you.

I am so very sorry to know that Dave is gone. He & I knew each other through politics. He was a great idea man and had a great sense of humor. I will miss getting the phone call from Dave, which always started, "Charlie, do you have a minute? I have an idea that I think you'll like..." The Jones family is in my thoughts and prayers...
Richard Abbott left a message on October 23, 2015:
It is with much sadness that we have lost a really good one - a rare commodity in political circles nowadays. Dave was a prolific politico extraordinaire. His ability to coalesce political support was virtually unparalleled - at least on the Republican side of the aisle (and sometimes with the "D's" as he called the other side). He was always quick with a funny story or a war story - or 2, or 3, or .... Dave was a loyal worker, trusted advisor, and a staunch supporter - unwaveringly committed to making a difference. He helped me a lot, and I was proud to call him my friend. He will be missed. Rich Abbott

Andrew Madey left a message on October 23, 2015:
Dave Jones, you helped steer me in the right direction, at the exact moment I was on the edge of making a choice that would have ruined my life (total fact when I compare myself now, to those I was involved with at that time). You forced me to make a phone call I didn't want to make, accept responsibility when I wanted to walk away from it...but stood next to me the entire call. I'm sure that moment pails in comparison to all the value you helped others realize, and I for sure, would not be where I am today if you hadn't taken time to talk me through my options. Rest In Peace Mr. Jones
