Darlene A. Witkus, (70), of Rising Sun, MD, passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2024. She was born in Baltimore, MD on June 4, 1953, to the late Earl Harman and Nellie (Bessling) Harman.
Darlene worked in multiple positions for EMR Services for 35 years in Baltimore, MD, Philadelphia, PA, and New Castle, DE. She was an avid fan of Baltimore sports teams and was always sure to attend or watch their games. In her free time, Darlene enjoyed traveling, needlepoint, Bunco, and playing bingo. She loved traveling the world and seeing different places, people, and things.
Darlene is a member of RSES – Refrigeration Service Engineer Society, the Ladies Auxiliary, and served on the credentials committee.
Darlene is survived by her husband, Ratib Baker, CMS of Rising Sun, MD; two stepdaughters: Kimberly Baker and her husband, Brian of Rodgers Forge, MD and Amanda Baker currently of Dakar, Senegal, Africa; two step-grandchildren: Nora and Caroline Baker; sister, Joann Beaver and her husband, Ted of Pasadena, MD; Debbie Sprucebank and her husband Keith of Bel Air, MD, Justin Price and several other nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held on Friday, March 22, 2024 from 7:00PM-9:00PM at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, 111 South Queen Street, Rising Sun, MD where family and friends are welcome to join. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at 10:00AM at R.T. Foard Funeral Home where family and friends are welcomed to join at 9:00AM. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery, 7225 Eastern Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21224. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to “St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital” and send in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 248, Rising Sun, MD 21911.
