Daniel “Dan” Walter Peirce, age, 71, of Elkton, MD, passed away on January 5, 2025. He was born to the late Cleaver LeRoy Peirce and Margaret Ann Peirce (Slawbaugh) on June 2, 1953 in Chambersburg, PA.
Dan was an accomplished guitarist who played in several local blues bands. He was also a master chef and owned his own restaurant at one time; But most of all, he loved cooking for his family and friends. Dan was a member of the Elk Neck Athletic Association, and a member of the Burnt Ends BBQ team with his good friends of Pine Grove Market. Dan was a one-of-a-kind great guy, know fondly as “Dan the Man” to his close friends. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him well.
Dan is survived by his wife of 20 years, Yvonne Peirce; daughter, Casey Truitt; step-daughter, Erica DeWitt (Derek); grandchildren: Madison, Dean and Hayes; bonus grandchild, Bennett; brother, Michael Peirce; and cousin, Debra Saunders. In addition to his parents, Dan is preceded in death by his siblings: C. Michelle Fountain, James T. Peirce and Cleaver L. Peirce Jr.; and his former spouse, Jacqueline Anne Peirce.
Services for Dan will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made payable to “Cecil County Special Olympics” and sent in care of R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 259 East Main Street Elkton, MD 21921.
