Daniel Ray Brumit, age 60, of Elkton, MD, passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2023. He was born in Wilmington, DE on May 9, 1963 to Charles Russell and Barbara Ellen (Coulbourne) Brumit.

Daniel was well loved by his family and his extended gamer family. He played many games, his favorite being Star Citizen and World of Tanks. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, kids and grandchildren. He also enjoyed fishing along the shore and was an avid deer hunter. Daniel enjoyed being at the beach and spending time in the West Virginia mountains. He will be remembered for his kind, caring, and gentle soul as well as his funny sense of humor and all the love he shared. Daniel will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Daniel is survived by his wife of twenty-nine years, Margaret Brumit; two children: Chelsea Walmer and her husband, Jeremy and Andrew Brumit; four grandchildren: Kayleigh Sakers, Angela Walmer, Gianna Walmer, and Dominic Walmer; father, Charles Russell Brumit; mother, Barbara Ellen Brumit; three brothers: Ronald Brumit, Russell Brumit, and Craig Brumit; and many nieces and nephews.

At this time, there will be no service. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Maggie, Those who touch our lives, stay in our hearts forever! Dan's life was a blessing, his memory a treasure! My family and I loved Dan very dearly! He was my favorite brother in law, and a kind spirit in a cruel world. Find comfort in God's word: "Jesus said to her, 'I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me, even though they die, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die.' ” John 11:25-26

I will always remember Dan’s kindness. He was more than happy to show you how to do something and was full of knowledge on so many different things. Most of all I’ll remember Dan as a great family man and father to Chelsea and Andy. He set the bar high for all the dads out there. Andrew and I have so many great memories and we talk about the camping trip in Ocean City often. Love and Condolences to Maggie, Chelsea, Andy and family. May you Rest in Peace Dan. Heaven gained another Angel.

My heart goes out to all of Dan's loved ones. Never was a man so well-loved and cared for and I know he had to have felt that love every single day. I'm glad that he had the support of extended family in the form of his fellow gamers, as well as friends, too. I love that he took the time to be silly and loving with so many people. That sense of humor! I'm sure it saw all of you through a lot of hard times. Please know I'm here if I can be of any help to you all in this time of sadness. Sending lots of love.

I think I can speak for a whole lot of people when I say, Dan (RSDcountry) was an easy guy to connect with. He always had time for everybody. Unfortunately never had the chance to meet the guy face to face but it felt like we did. "ol man" was his nickname but in all reality he was everybodies video game dad. My thoughts go out to his family and friends, and everybody else across the entire globe that he left an impression on. Maggie I'm sorry I talked him into so many ships! I miss you RSD. You were the best person to be around. Always considerate of everyone. You always made sure everyone were taking care of before you. I truly am going to miss hearing your voice, and always pondering the world around you. I miss you, and I am so grateful I got to hear from you recently. Condolences to the family. I knew Daniel, or Country as I called him in Star Citizen. He was always a pleasure to have around and will be deeply missed. I ran into him only one day during a yearly event and he ended up joining my organization in game for a short while, he introduced me to a lot of friends he made online and we all still keep in touch. If it hadn't been for him I wouldn't have gotten to know all these great people. His attitude was always the best. The Star Citizen Universe will feel a little more empty without him, but I know his presence has made a lasting difference.

Please accept my heartfelt condolences, and know that my thoughts are with his family during this difficult time. Daniel's presence as "RSDcountry" in the gaming community has brought joy and camaraderie to many. It's clear that he made a significant impact in the lives of those he interacted with, and he will be remembered for the good times and memories he shared with his fellow gamers.
