My deepest sympathy to the McMillan family on Dan's passing. I had the good fortune to know Dan over most of his career at Oyster Creek NGS. As his first supervisor in the operator training department, I was blessed to have a lead instructor with his skills, experience, dedication, and professionalism. Coupled with his friendly outgoing manner, he was a pleasure to work with and I am just one of many to know him as a friend. Like several others at the plant, I was also a Navy Submarine Veteran and that was an additional bond in our friendship. I think of Dan often on my frequent trips to Scotland to visit my daughter and her family. Dan was admired and appreciated by all who had the opportunity to know him. He will be missed by his Oyster Creek family and remembered fondly.

Dan and I were in the US Navy together 46 years ago. I could not have asked for a better friend. He had a knack for teaching others technical systems on board the nuclear submarine and was liked by everyone in the crew. Dan and I spent many hours sitting outside the apartment talking about life back in Iowa where we both grew up. It seems like yesterday seeing Dan, Kay, Danny, and Jennifer back in Groton, Ct. I am so blessed to know this great man.

So sorry to hear about Dan's untimely passing. We worked together in the Oyster Creek Training Department. Dan was truly one of the "good guys", very caring and professional. He was instrumental in making the OC Training Department one of the best around. I feel honored to have called him my friend as well as colleague.
