Dale O. Daubert, of Chesapeake City, MD and formerly of Palmyra, PA, died Wednesday, May 30, 2013, after an eight-year battle with leukemia. He was born in Palmyra on July 6, 1934 to Joseph and Hazel Hartz Daubert. He was a military policeman in Korea from 1955 until 1957. He was the president of Bowman’s Insurance Agency until his retirement in 1991. He was a past president of Palmyra Rotary and Kiwannis Clubs and was a Paul Harris Fellow.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Michelene (Mickey) of Chesapeake City, MD; daughter, Dawn, of Hummelstown, PA; son, Joseph Daubert and his wife, Melinda, and granddaughter, Margaret of New London, PA. He was preceded in death by his sister, Jean Gable, and his brother, James.
He earned his Coast Guard 6-passsenger-for-hire captain’s license and had a MD commercial fisherman’s license, which he used for crabbing.
He enjoyed many hobbies over the years, including boating, fishing, model trains, scuba diving, snowmobiling, hunting and skiing.
Visitation will be Trinity United Church of Christ in Palmyra at 10:30 to 11:30 on Friday, June 14th, with memorial service at 11:30. Burial will be private at Fort Indiantown Gap Veteran’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society c/o R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 318 George Street, Chesapeake City, MD 21915.
