Curtis “Carseat” Elwood Reedy, Sr., age 85, of Newark, DE, passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2022. He was born on November 26, 1936 in Pocahontas, VA to the late James Louis Reedy and Launa Beatrice (Dalton) Reedy.

Curtis worked for Abex Steel in New Castle, DE for fifty years before retiring. He had a talent for wood working and worked on projects any chance he could get. Curtis will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Curtis is survived by his two sons: Curtis Reedy, Jr., and Glenn Reedy and his wife, Denise; six grandchildren: Chad (Sara), Megan (Jeff), Ben, Kristin (Steven), Stephanie (Luis), and Storm; eleven great grandchildren: Willow, Charlotte, Payton, Silas, Steven, Jordan, David, Rosealie, Adriana, Ana, and Leo; uncle, Gene Dalton and his wife, Ruth; and great aunt, Betty Clemens.

In addition to his parents, Curtis is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Janet Reedy; two sons: Bruce and Mark Reedy; brother, Paul Reedy; sister, Patsy Thompson; and daughter-in-law, Michele Stepchuck.

A celebration of Curtis’s life will be held on Friday, June 24, 2022 at 12:00PM at Ebenezer United Methodist Church, 525 Polly Drummond Hill Road, Newark, DE 19711 where friends and family may begin visiting at 10:00AM.
