Clinton Ellis Bowers, age 89, of Rising Sun, MD passed away peacefully on Monday, July 1, 2024. He was born on April 23, 1935, in Beaver Creek, MD. Clinton was the son of the late Eugene Baker Bowers, and Flora Naomi (Hoffman) Bowers.
Clinton was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather and was married for 68 years to his beloved wife, Ruth Bowers. He was a proud veteran, serving in the United States Army from 1957 to 1959. Following his military service, Clinton pursued a career as an Industrial Engineer at the Chrysler Corporation. In the community, Clinton was known for his generous spirit and his ability to always see the good in others. He was a member of various organizations, including the PTA, the Touch Down Club (which raised money for high school sports), and served as a commissioner in Rising Sun. Clinton had a passion for sports, especially baseball. He loved watching the Orioles, coached Little League, and served as the President of the Rising Sun Little League. Clinton was also actively involved in his children’s school activities, coaching softball, and baseball. After retirement, Clinton enjoyed wood working. He will be remembered for his kindness and his dedication to his family and community.
Clinton is survived by his loving wife, Virginia Ruth Bowers; son, Clint Alan Bowers and his wife, Jan; daughter, Tami Wiggins; grandson, Hunter Wiggins and his wife, Monica; 1 great grandson on the way; and sisters: Ruth Conway and Dorthea Heavnar.
In addition to his parents, Clinton is preceded in death by 9 siblings.
