Claudia Jean Mullis, age 72, of Rising Sun, MD passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on October 14, 2017. Born on July 1, 1945 in Havre de Grace, MD, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Mary (Lewis) Hartsoe.
A gentle, kind and quiet woman, Claudia accepted the Lord as her Savior at 11 years of age. She became a member of Conowingo Baptist Church when she was 16 years old where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the choir. Claudia was a great listener with a wonderful singing voice. She will be remembered as a very loving wife, mother, aunt and grandmother.
Claudia is survived by her husband of 49 ½ years, Bill Mullis; son, Keith Mullis granddaughter, Mya N. Mullis; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Neil Hartsoe.
A celebration of Claudia’s life will be held at 11am on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Conowingo Baptist Church, 151 Rock Springs Road, Conowingo, MD 21918, where friends and family may visit beginning at 10am Burial will follow at Conowingo Baptist Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made payable to “Conowingo Baptist Cemetery Perpetual Care” and sent care of the funeral home, PO Box 248, Rising Sun, MD 21911.
