Claude Allen White, Jr. of Middletown, DE, age 66, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his wife and children on Wednesday, November 4, 2020. He was born in Bluefield, WV on August 17, 1954 to the late Claude Allen White, Sr. and Jo Ann (Branch) White.

Allen was an avid spades player. He loved listening to music and played the guitar for many years. Allen enjoyed watching any and all sports, but particularly liked to watch the Cincinnati Bengals and Reds. He found joy in many things in life and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Allen is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Nancy White; three daughters: Gwendolyn McCaffrey, Crystal White and Amy White; five grandchildren: Cody, Jacquelyn, Caden, Braden and Braelynn; one great-grandson, Robert; brother, Michael White; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.

In addition to his parents, Allen was preceded in death by his sister, Brenda Gilbert.

A celebration of Allen’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, November 13, 2020 at R.T. Foard & Jones Funeral Home, 122 W. Main St., Newark, DE 19711, where family and friends may begin visiting at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Kemblesville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Allen’s honor may be made payable to “Nancy White” to offset funeral expenses, and sent in care of the funeral home.

Allen was a good friend. He had the best sense of humor. We've had had many laughs together over the years. I know he loved all the good times and family picnics at Uncle Joes. You will be remembered for your lind soul and big heart. Sending my prayers to Nancy and the family.

Allen was a big ol teddy bear to me when I was growing up in church. I'll never forget him and my Pop Pop playing the guitar for hours on end in church or well anywhere they were together. He always joked with me saying if your skeered say your skeered and jump in my pocket lol. They just don't make em like him and my Pop Pop anymore! Allen's family will be in my family's thoughts and prayers.

Allen let me take a second. Ur gonna be missed, I have known u 18 years you always would make me laugh i could always get u talking trash just wanted to say u should really be happy u have wonderful daughters they sure know how to be a great friend i always enjoyed the family outings and the cookouts rest easy and I see ya when I walk thur them gates as well

Allen was one of my favorite musicians to sing with for many years. No one will ever present the song "Hold the fort" like he could. To the family I pray for comfort in each coming day. It was great knowing him for many years.
