Clara Killam Raffensperger, age 96, of Newark, Delaware passed away peacefully while surrounded by her loving son Gregg and daughter in law Kelly. She was born in Boxford MA, and raised on the family farm in Topsfield, MA. She later moved to Newark DE where she resided for the past 64 years.
She enjoyed gardening, hunting waterfowl, fishing, woodworking and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was also an avid fan of the University of Delaware Blue Hens.
She was preceded in death by her parents Dana F. and Rachel Foster Killam, her brother Franklin W. Killam, her sisters Nancy Killam Begin and Margaret Killam Frost. She is survived by her only son Gregg Raffensperger, daughter in law Kelly Raffensperger, 3 grandchildren Katie Burlingame (Jason), Scott Raffensperger (Kristen), John Raffensperger (Ali) , and 10 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held in her home town of Topsfield MA.
Because of her affection for her dogs, as an expression of sympathy and condolences, donations can be made in Clara Raffensperger’s memory to Brandywine Valley SPCA.

I was so sorry to hear of Clara’s passing. We spoke on the phone every couple months and I really enjoyed keeping in touch over the years. My aunt was Diane Shortt Francis and I am forever grateful for all Clara did for my aunt until she passed, and for remaining friends with me. She gave me a lot of wisdom and great advice which I will never forget, and will remain in my heart forever. All my love to Gregg and his family,
