Clara A. Cease, age 85, of Rising Sun, MD, formerly of Anne Arundel County, MD, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2018. Born on March 18, 1933 in Elmira, NY, she was the daughter of the late Clemens and Ruth (Ruggles) Andrus.

Clara grew up as a farmer’s daughter, inspiring her love of gardening, picking fruits, and canning. She was an amazing cook and loved eating her many wonderful dishes. Clara enjoyed doing word searches in her free time and throughout her life was always an avid lover of dogs.

Clara is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, James Cease of Rising Sun, MD; son, David J. Cease and his wife, Lori, of Rising Sun, MD; granddaughters: Emma and Sophia Cease, both of Rising Sun, MD; and sister, Phyllis Robinson of Wellsburg, NY.

A celebration of Clara’s life will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, June 29, 2018 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 South Queen Street, Rising Sun, MD 21911, where friends and family may visit beginning at 12:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to the “Alzheimer’s Association” or “Seasons Hospice” and sent in care of the funeral home, PO Box 248, Rising Sun, MD 21911.
