Christopher “Chris” James Smith, age 38, of Elkton, MD passed away on June 16, 2022. He was born in Wilmington, DE on March 25, 1984 to Wayne Charles Smith and Janice Lucinda Smith (Wingate).

Chris worked in construction as a general contractor, he enjoyed working with his hands, he was artistic in multimedia work. Chris loved music, he was free spirited and had a love of life. Chris was known to make people laugh, he was protective of his family and opinionated, you always knew where you stood with him. He was a sneaker aficionado and a sneaker collector. Chris was an avid MMA fan, and a Philadelphia sports fan. He will be greatly missed.

Chris is survived by his daughter, Amya Smith; parents, Wayne and Janice Smith; 2 brothers: Shane Charles Smith, and Andrew Wayne Smith; and many extended family members and friends.

A memorial gathering will be held from 10:30AM-12:00PM on Monday, June 27, 2022 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, 259 East Main Street, Elkton, MD 21921. Burial will be held privately.

i think of you everyday pops, i miss you more than i can even describe. i will miss you when i graduate, when i get married, and all the days in between. i love you old man 🖤

Love you chris never got to meet you but I said some things I honestly truly regret.When I think of you I see myself in you a little bit and I just think sometimes that you seem like one of the most sweetest souls just wrong environment.Been thinking of you a lot tho and I don’t really know you but I’ll never forget you?

My family sends our deepest condolences, thoughts, love, prayers, and strength to Chris' family. The one thing I will always remember about Chris is how much he loved Amya and the bond they shared together. My heart goes out to Amya and the rest of the family during this difficult time.
