Cheryl June Smith, age 65, of Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully Saturday, April 7, 2018. Born February 19, 1953 in Wilmington, DE, Cheryl was the daughter of the late Royal E. Smith, Jr. and the late Shirley M. (Clark) Smith.
Cheryl is survived by her two sisters: Kathleen Ruckman of Chestertown, MD and Bonnie Derbyshire of Wilmington, DE. Cheryl is also survived by six nephews: Robert, Stephen and Jonathan Ruckman and Kevin, Matthew and Andrew Derbyshire; two nieces: Karen Lindsay and Anne Derbyshire DeCaire, their spouses and their sixteen children.
A celebration of Cheryl’s life will be held at 2:30pm on Sunday, April 29, 2018 at the First Unitarian Church, 730 Halstead Rd, Wilmington, DE 19803. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to “CHILD, Inc.”, “Salvation Army” or to the “First Unitarian Church” and sent in care of R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., P.O. Box 248, Rising Sun, MD 21911.
