We were so sorry to hear of Charlies death. I remember working with Charlie in the late 60's early 70's at Black Hill Ranger Station. He was a great guy to work with. He will be missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. Dick Powell

I remember Charlie going for a walk in the mornings in Nottingham Fields and the tones going off for a fire call my son was around 5 or 6 at the time would take the golf cart and go pick up Mr. Goodie. You would see them come up the road and go bouncing across all the neighbors yard to get to his truck so he could make the call. My son is now a member of Rising Sun Fire Co. and Mr. Goodie was the one who was behind him 100% when he joined. He will be one of the privileged ones to stand honor guard and be a pallbearer for Mr. Goodie. This after many a rough ride on the golf cart to get to his truck to make the call. Mr Goodie you will be greatly missed you were a wonderful neighbor. Oh by the way Tyler would go back and pick up Mrs Goodie.

Another icon of CFCRS has passed. I will always remember Charlie as someone who took pride in the fire equipment, was always polishing, always cleaning, always whistling. Always had a kind word. He will surely be missed. Rest in peace Charlie, you and Howard are now the guardian angels of CFCRS. To the family, so sorry for your loss. Charlie was truly a great man.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

My brother-in-law who married my sister when I was just 7 years old has always been there for myself and my family. Always a smile on his face and always eager to drive us anywhere. With my husband being career military, my brother-in-law was the one who transported me to many airports for our assignments both stateside and overseas. A devoted husband to my sister and loving father to his two children, Phyllis and Charlie and their children. With the fire company always in his heart, he served our government community and town of Rising Sun with upmost passion and devotion. Few people can equal my brother-in-law - we feel especially fortunate to have had in our lives and he will always hold a special place in our hearts.
