Charles Norris Seward, 90, of Newark, DE passed away March 2, 2012 at Churchman’s Village.
Born in Elkton, MD, Charles was the son of the late Charles and Stella Hammond Seward. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II with the 29th Division where he received the Purple Heart and Silver Star. He retired from the City of Newark where he worked in the Water Department. He followed politics and kept up on current events.
He is survived by his son Charles ‘Ronald’ Seward and his wife Linda of Oxford, PA; two grandchildren, Todd Seward and his wife Vivian of Avondale, PA and Mark Seward of Newark, DE; and a brother, George Seward of Newark. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Anna E. Seward, a brother and a sister.
A service honoring his life will be held at R.T. Foard & Jones Funeral Home, 122 West Main St., Newark, DE 19711 on Monday March 12, 2012 at 12 noon. Friends and family may call at the funeral home beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
