Charles N. Dixon, age 71, of Conowingo, MD passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2017. Born on February 26, 1946 in Fountain Green, MD, he was the son of the late Namon and Jossie Viola Horton Dixon.
After serving his country in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam, he went to work at the Chrysler Assembly Plant in Newark, DE where he retired in 2001. Charles also worked at the Manheim Auto Auction in his retirement. His greatest joy however was being a husband, father, and grandfather to his family, and his love for God. He was a proud member of New Beginning Baptist Church in Peach Bottom, PA.
Charles is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Pauline Dixon; son, Charles Samuel Dixon; daughters, Jossie Nichols, and her husband, Albert, and Melinda Hamilton, and her husband, Matthew; grandchildren, Charles Tyler Nichols, Derrick Flynn Hamilton, Samuel Andrew Nichols, Jewelia Marie Nichols, and Kacie Mae Hamilton; a brother, Rufus Dixon; sisters, Rebecca Bise, and her husband, Herman and Mary Mason and her husband, David; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brother, Don Dixon.
A Celebration of Charles’ life will be held at 11AM on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at New Beginning Baptist Church, 301 Black Barren Road, Peach Bottom, PA 17563. Friends and family may visit beginning from 6PM to 8PM on Friday, December 15, 2017 at the church and also at 10AM before the service at the church. Burial will follow at West Nottingham Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to “New Beginning Baptist Church” and sent in care of R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., P.O. Box 248, Rising Sun, MD 21911.
