Charles L. Pyles, age 81, of Perryville, MD, passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at Laurelwood Care Center in Elkton, MD. He was born March 26, 1932 in Preston County, WV to the late Roy F. and Lillian Minear Pyles and was the youngest of seven children.
Charles was a veteran of the U. S. Army having served in Germany during the Korean War and was retired from AstraZeneca in Wilmington, DE.
“Chuck” loved animals and was known to have rescued many cats and dogs over the years. He frequently listened to country music and enjoyed playing the guitar. An avid sports fan, he was a faithful follower of the West Virginia University Mountaineers. Charles was a benevolent person and never hesitated to lend a helping hand to anyone who had fallen upon hard times.
He is survived by his wife Frances P. Pyles of Newark, DE, stepdaughters Barbara Powell of Philippi, WV, Shirley Hower and Marcia Liburdi, both of North East, MD; stepson Eldon Buell of Marysville, TN, and son Faron Pyles of Colora, MD.
