Charles H. Einstein, age 93, passed away June 14, 2013 at Foot Hill Acres in Hillsborough, NJ. Born January 3, 1920 in Frankfurt, Germany, Charlie was the son of the late, Richard and Alice Einstein.
Charlie came to this country through Ellis Island in 1938, became a U.S. citizen January 4, 1944 and served in the U.S. Army until his honorable discharge on March 26, 1946. He owned his own carpentry business and still had time to pursue his passion of boating. He served as Commander in the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, Commodore of the Patten Point Yacht Club in Long Branch, NJ, and was a lifetime member and educator with the Northern NJ Power Squadron. He also spent many years living in Delaware and was an active member and volunteer at the Newark Senior Center.
Charlie is survived by his 3 children; sons, Richard, Dennis and his wife, Beth; daughter, Mary O’Connor and husband, Kevin; 4 grandchildren; Krissy, Jason, Kyle and Taryn. Along with his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by his wife, Cecilia, who he married on August 19, 1944. They were married 41 years when Cecilia passed away.

Service will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at 6:00 pm, where friends and family may call from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at R.T. Foard & Jones Funeral Home, 122 West Main St, Newark, DE 19711. On Thursday, June 20, 2013 at 1:30pm in the Chapel at Woodbridge Memorial Gardens,
US Highway 1 North, Woodbridge, NJ; then proceed to the Niche where Dad’s ashes will be placed (in that building).
