June & Bill Cooper left a message on June 18, 2013:
Charlie came to our Northeast River Power Squadron from Northern New Jersey. He was an avid educator and provided our Squadron with many, many teaching aids and material for the students. He sat in on every class we taught and contributed his ideas to our education department. He was a man full of wonderful, entertaining, and educational stories! He was a fountain of experience and joy to all he met. We shall miss him.

Charlie, One of my more pleasurable times of day was taking respite from my daily work activities to visit and chat. You took pride in all you did in life and even into retirement took an active role on my "crew" as an active Board Member of Resident Council and always saught to better the lives of everyone at Whitechapel Retirement Center. I will always remember your advice. Not to mention some of your humorous stories. A husband, a chef, a carpenter, a serviceman, a sailor.....a good friend. I will miss services as I am out of state on work assignment. I wish the family my respects. My prayers are for you all to be able to come together and share common fond memories of Charlie while able to bury the sadder ones. Life is like sailing, Charlie told me you cant sail backwards. (though some people try) God Bless - Frank DeMarinis Director Whitechapel Asst Living
