Charles Franklin Humbertson, “Charlie” age 73 of Newark, DE, formerly of Cumberland, MD, passed away on December 20, 2018. He was born on October 15, 1945 in Allegany, MD to the late Charles Basil Humbertson and Elizabeth Anne (Keifer) Humbertson.
Charlie worked as a machinist at Insteel Wire Products for 40 years. He was very hard working and will be remembered by his lending hand and care for others. Charlie had many hobbies, which included: crabbing, wood working, camping, traveling in his RV, fishing, and hunting. He was an avid sportsman. Charlie was proud of his cabin that he built in Cumberland, MD. He loved traveling and spending time with his grandchildren.
Charlie is survived by his wife of 23 years, Nancy (Dehart) Humbertson; sons: Charles Humbertson, Jr., Mark Humbertson, and Mike Humbertson; step children: Lori Donahue and Connie Broadwater; five brothers; three sisters; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his step daughter, Tammy Hall and grandson, Charles “Butchie” Humbertson, III.
A remembrance of Charlie’s life will be held on Friday, December 28, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Aetna Hose, Hook, and Ladder Company, 400 Ogletown Road, Newark, DE 19711. Family and friends may attend the visitation beginning at 10:00 AM.
