Charles “Chuck” Arthur Nugent, 71, of Newark, Delaware, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 19, 2026. Born on July 5, 1955, in Newark, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Alfred J. Nugent and Gloria Claire (née Ackerman) Nugent.
Chuck proudly served his country in the United States Navy for four years. He had a lifelong sense of adventure and enjoyed traveling the world, creating many memorable experiences along the way. In 1998, he traveled to China and climbed the Great Wall—one of the many adventures he treasured. Chuck was also an avid golfer, a certified scuba diver, and an enthusiastic coin collector.
He will be remembered by his companion of 10½ years, Karyn Andersen; her daughters, Marissa Harris (Scott) and Mallory Marschall (Tyler Pecha); his nephew, William Pear, Jr. (Karen); his brother-in-law, William Pear, Sr.; her grandchildren, Chase, Tessa, and Hudson; and his great-nephews, Alex Pear and Kyle Pear.
In addition to his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Lou Pear.
A celebration of Chuck’s life will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2026 at 3:00 PM at R.T. Foard & Jones, Inc., 122 West Main Street, Newark, DE 19711, where friends and family may begin visiting at 2:30 PM. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Chuck’s memory to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
