I am very sorry for your loss. I worked with Catherine for almost 20 years at Holly Hall. For several of those years she was a para in my classroom. She was always very caring with all the children. She always had a smile and a contagious laugh. After my retirement we kept in touch when a group of us would get together for dinner and we continued to share stories and laughs. She will be missed. With deepest sympathy, Linda Gubbine
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

I worked with Catherine for 10 years at Holly Hall Elementary School, over the years we became more than co-workers we became good friends. This school year I was able to join her and her group of ladies for lunch and we all had the best time together at lunch, many laughs. Catherine and I would see each other in the hallway in passing and do our princess wave to one another and then we would just laugh. I will miss her so much and miss seeing her at work everyday. It was an honor and privilege to know her and call her friend. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

I worked with Cathy at Thomson Estates Elementary School from 1988 through 1997, along with her in the R.A.P.P.S. program. She was a warm, friendly, wonderful woman! After I retired, we would run into one another every so often. I saw her most recently at the Singerly Fire Hall flea market in January. We will miss her, and our deepest sympathies go out to her family and friends. Karen and Ted Gorzkowski

Donna, Karen, John, Tim, & Greg, I am truly sorry for your loss. Your mother was a wonderful coworker and friend. She was always patient and caring with her Holly Hall students, and I have many fond memories from the years we worked together. She was always willing to do fun things with our students, and was invested in their learning. I remember last year, she played a role in a "3 Little Pigs" reader's theater that the kids performed for the Pre-K. On more than one occasion Catherine brought me in homemade soup, or salad, or other treat. We liked to swap stories about our families. She was full of love. I am going to miss her presence at Holly Hall very much.

Donna, Karen, John, Tim, & Greg, I had the privilege of working with your mom for the past 20 years. She was a para in my classroom for the first 3 or 4 years I began teaching at Holly Hall. She was so patient and caring toward all the children of Holly Hall. Four years ago, my mother suffered a massive stroke and was in Sunbridge. She went out of her way each day to come and check on me to see how I was doing. On the last day of school for students in 2009, my mom was taken to the hospital and I was there almost all night. The next day was the last day for students, and I had 2 hours of sleep. Your mom came to my room, packed away all of my books for me, then spent most of the rest of the day with me while I finished my record cards. My mom passed away that night. Your mom was one of the first people at my mom's viewing the next week. Holly Hall's heart is broken with the loss of such a valuable part of our faculty. I miss her tremendously. Beth Boulden Moore

So hard to even find the words to express how very sorry I am. Your Mom was such a wonderful "Lady" in the truest sense of the word ! So Beautiful inside and out. She was always so sweet and kind to my Family. I still have a vivd video in my mind of her walking down the street in Chesapeake City after your Dad's luncheon....holding my Grand Daughters hand as she took her shopping. Sophia was taken with her immediately.....she just had a special gentleness. My Michelle was so Blessed to be able to call her "Mom Shelton". And it was an honor to call her Family !! She will be so very missed ......... My Heart and Prayers are with all of you, her precious Children and GrandChildren. May God Comfort you during these difficult days....and Grant You His Peace xoxoxo

Donna, Karen, Tim, John, and Greg, I want to express my heartfelt condolences at your mom’s passing. I had the pleasure of working with your mom at Holly Hall for the last 15 years. My fondest memory occurred last June when she helped me clean and set up my new classroom. For two days it was just the two of us, talking and kidding around. She spoke so lovingly of your dad. She spoke of her love for all of you and of course her grandchildren. She had a great sense of family. Thank you for sharing her with all of us. I will miss your mom.
Greg left a message on April 27, 2013:
