Carroll W. Mumford III of Newark, DE, age 56, passed away Monday, February 27, 2017. He was born in Wilmington, DE on August 3, 1960 to Dorothy (Hawthorne) Mumford and the late Carroll W. Mumford, Jr.
Carroll was a graduate of Newark High School and the University of Delaware. He was a successful insurance agent with New York Life Insurance Co. for over 15 years. Carroll enjoyed golf, reading and spending time at the beach.
Carroll is survived by his six children: Mary Jeanne, Allison, Madeline, Brooke, Timothy and Megan, his mother, Dorothy Mumford of Newark, DE, and his sister, Deborah L. Mumford of Rehoboth Beach, DE. He was preceded in death by his father, Carroll W. Mumford, Jr.
A visitation for Carroll will be held on Sunday, March 5, 2017 between 3PM and 5PM at R.T. Foard & Jones Funeral Home, 122 W. Main St., Newark, DE 19711. Service and burial will be private. Memorial donations in Carroll’s honor may be made payable “GBS-CIDP Foundation International” (Guillain-Barre Syndrome Foundation) and sent in care of R.T Foard & Jones Funeral Home, 122 W. Main St., Newark, DE 19711.
