Carolyn Lee Hoffman, age 72 of Newark, DE passed away on March 17, 2022. She was born on June 21, 1949 in Baltimore, MD to the late John Evans Eastburn, Sr. and Irma Ann (Clasen) Eastburn.

Carolyn worked as a Registered Nurse and retired from the VA Hospital in Elsmere, DE after 32 years. She loved to travel and go camping and fishing. She enjoyed playing shuffle board, cards, and board games. Carolyn rooted for the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles every year. She was a social butterfly and loved being with people, but most of all, her grandkids.

Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Renee Lynch and her husband, Timothy; son, Brian Hoffman and his wife, Jessica; grandchildren: Danielle Nichols, Brennan Nichols, Jordan Miller, Natalie Harris, and Sasha Hoffman; great grandchildren: Kai Giles, Charlotte Wrigley, and Allister Miller; brother, John Eastburn, Jr.; and sisters: Nancy Phillips and Sue Massengale.

A celebration of Carolyn’s life will be held on Friday, March 25, 2022 at 4PM at R.T. Foard & Jones, Inc. 122 West Main Street, Newark, DE 19711. Family and friends may attend the viewing beginning at 3PM. Burial will be held privately at Mill Creek Friends Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to, “Delaware Hospice” or “Helen Graham Cancer Center” and sent in care of the funeral home.
