Carolyn Ann (Pat) Eastburn, age 85, of Newark, went to join our Lord and her beloved family and friends in heaven on Tuesday, July 9, 2024.  She was born in Marshallton, DE on March 8, 1939, to the late Samuel Edgar Eastburn and Nellie Helen (Crossan) Eastburn.

Carolyn was a woman of Christian faith and loved serving her church, Christiana Presbyterian.  She sang in the choir, served as an Elder, and was a long-time member of the women’s group where she built strong spiritual and personal bonds. Carolyn was an administrative assistant at Hercules for 37 years. Carolyn enjoyed antique shopping and exploring flea markets, always searching for “forgotten treasures”.  She loved jigsaw puzzles and was also an avid reader, enjoying all different genres of books. Carolyn was a sweet lady, known for her quiet demeanor, shy smiles, and willingness to lend a hand.

Carolyn is survived by her nieces and nephews: Deborah Robbins (husband, Andrew England), Bryan Robbins, MaryAnne Beattie (husband, David), Alfred Eastburn, and Janet Chickadel (husband, Daniel).

She is preceded in death by her parents, and sisters: Bertha Mowbray (husband, Alpheus), Esther Eastburn, and Olive Robbins (husband, Bobby); brothers: Samuel (wife, Emma), Alfred (wives, Elizabeth, and Anne), and Francis (wife, Mary).

Services will be held on Friday, July 26, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Christiana Presbyterian Church, 15 N Old Baltimore Pike, Newark, DE 19702, where family and friends may begin visiting at 10:00 AM. Burial will be at Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery on Thursday, April 17, 2025 at 2:00pm.. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christiana Presbyterian Church.
