Caroline Roberta Hickman was called home on July 5, 2013. She was born on July 28, 1955 in Havre de Grace, MD to the late Donald R. Hickman Sr. and Edna J. Hickman.
She was employed at the Maryland House for 17 yrs until they closed. Before that she was well-known for her cooking at the Cloverleaf Diner in Aberdeen for about 20 yrs. Caroline was a very dedicated employee to both. All who knew her knew she had a very warm, kind heart but would speak her mind very well no matter the time or place. In her spare time she loved to play bingo. Caroline also would attend and support her grandchildren and family’s sporting games, concerts, and any activities they were involved in.
Caroline leaves to mourn, her son Vernon Hickman, of Bel Air, MD and her daughter Lula Hickman (Missy) and fiancé Robert Shivers Sr. of Aberdeen, MD; grandchildren, Amanda Hickman, Ariel Dudley, Jacob Hickman, Faith Hickman, Gavin Strawbridge, Amanda (Igenae) Dudley, Robert Shivers Jr. and Miranda Hickman; 1 great grandson Devante Brice. She is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, friends, co-workers and cousins. In addition to her parents she is predeceased by her two brothers, Donald R. Hickman Jr. and Walter Hagan.
A service will be held 11 AM on Friday July 12, 2013 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home P.A.,111 S. Queen St. Rising Sun, MD 21911. A visitation will be 6-8 PM on Thursday July 11, 2013 at the funeral home and also one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in West Nottingham Cemetery.
