Carol Meade Peters passed away on Thursday, April 15, 2021. Carol was born on May 13, 1938 in Wilmington, DE and lived her entire life in Newark. She is survived by her two children: Nina Warren and her husband, Frank of Newark, DE, and Joel B. Peters and his wife, Cece of North East, Md; grandchildren: Cody A. Peters of North East, MD, Trevor John Clemens of Newark, DE, Dylan L. Peters of North East, MD, Courtney Lally of Lewes, DE and Kayli Manley of North East, MD. She was predeceased by her husband, John Peters; daughter, Maria Leigh Peters; sister, Patricia McCann and her parents, Dr. Arthur A. and Margaret M. Mencher.
Carol attended the University of Delaware and was a special education teacher in both Cecil County, MD and New Castle County, DE for over 30 years. Carol enjoyed gardening, crossword puzzles, watching Jeopardy, cooking, canning, and having great conversations with family and friends.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at R. T. Foard & Jones Funeral Home, 122 W. Main Street, Newark, DE 19711 where friends and family may call at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be held privately at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery at a later date where she will be interred with her husband, John.
