Jaime left a message on January 17, 2013:
Poppy: I appreciate the way you laughed -- uproariously might I add -- at my jokes; I only found out I wasn't funny when I told those same jokes to other people who responded with bewilderment and confusion. I appreciate the way you made me feel like the most important and beautiful girl in any room; that wasn't easy, I know, when in our family alone there are a host of beauty queens, starting with Nanny. I appreciate the way you coached me gently during those difficult teenage and young adult years; I suppose your familiarity with both strife and stubbornness made you wise enough to know exactly what to say. I appreciate the way you beamed with pride every time you introduced me; it helped me know I was worthy. I appreciate you having fallen in love with Audrey Battersby (and not Viola W.) and continuing that love until, and after, Polly came. I appreciate the legacy you have left me, and I vow to live sharing the love and wisdom you were so generous to bestow upon me. Thanks for being my Poppy and my best friend. May you run many balls and till many gardens while you wait for me. (Try to get all the gardening done, though, please. ;-). I love you! Jaime
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.
