Burdie Lue Bryson, 80, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home on Sunday, December 10, 2023. She was the daughter of the late Emory Alonzo Meadows and Essie Mable (Wills) Meadows.
Born and raised in Hinton, West Virginia, Burdie grew up in a large family and was one of the older sisters who helped take care of her younger siblings. They were a very close, tight-knit family. Burdie cherished her brothers and sisters. As she grew up in Hinton, she met the love of her life Robert Bryson. They married November 16, 1962, and they moved to Elkton, Maryland. Burdie worked for Plasticoid in Elkton for 17 years and the University of Delaware for 15 years. Burdie enjoyed going back to Hinton every year with her husband for the July 4th family reunions. In her spare time, she enjoyed every minute with her six grandchildren. The grandkids were always staying over with Nanny and Pop-pop. Burdie loved visiting her friends and going to church. She was a long-time member of the River of Life Church. She loved going every Sunday and spending time with the congregation. Her friends there were special to her. She loved to volunteer and help out any way she could. She found joy being with people and being kind to everyone.
