Bruce D. “Reds” Malin, age 76, passed away at home Thursday, February 2, 2017. He was born in Phoenixville, PA, on August 7, 1940 to the late Taylor A. Malin and Myrtle A. (Clegg) Malin.
Bruce graduated from Phoenixville High School, then went on to serve in the U.S. Army as a MP. He retired from his career as a Sales Manager at Alger Oil in 2006. Bruce pitched fast pitch softball and enjoyed hunting, fishing, sports, playing golf and card games, especially bridge and pinochle. He found joy in working his vegetable garden, bird watching and spending his birthday’s at Delaware Park with his family. Bruce found his greatest pleasure in spending time with his family, including the cruise taken to celebrate his 50th wedding anniversary.
Bruce is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Barbara J. Malin, his son, Jeff Malin and his wife, Lisa, his grandson, Josh and his granddaughter, Katie.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Seasons Hospice nursing and supportive staff for their kindness and compassion.
A memorial service in Bruce’s honor will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at 7PM. Family and friends may begin visiting at 6PM at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 318 George St., Chesapeake City, MD 21915. Burial will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made payable to “Wounded Warrior Project” or the charity of your choice and sent in care of R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.O. Box 248, Rising Sun, MD 21911.
