Brian Gene Wadkins, age 23, of Chesapeake City, MD passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 surrounded by family. He was born on April 4, 1997 in Elkton, MD to Charles E. Wadkins and the late Theresa Faye Shivery.
Those who knew Brian saw him as a happy little boy who loved being outside enjoying nature. He could be found somewhere near the neighborhood catching various reptiles including frogs and snakes. Brian was a kind hearted soul who would play the “Big Brother” roll for the smaller kids in the neighborhood. He also enjoyed riding bicycles and road around his Honda 50 dirt bike. Brian loved NFL football and was an avid Philadelphia Eagles Fanatic.
Brian is survived by his father, Chuck Wadkins of Chesapeake City, MD; brother, Charles Funk and his wife Lynn of Oxford, PA; sister Stephanie Poorman and her husband Scott of Chesapeake City, MD; brother, Joseph “JC” Charles Wadkins of Chesapeake City, MD; sister-in-law Kelsea of Chesapeake City, MD; grandfather, William Gene Wadkins; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. In addition to his mother, Brian is preceded in death by his grandmother, Inez Shivery and grandmother, Audrey Wadkins.
A celebration of Brian’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 12, 2020 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 318 George Street where family and friends may begin visiting at 10:00a.m. Interment will follow at Bethel Cemetery in Chesapeake City, MD. The family would like to specially thank the first responders of Chesapeake City. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to the “Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 of Chesapeake City” and sent in care of the funeral home.
