Beverly Jean Nowell, age 74 of Elkton, MD, passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2022. She was born on May 21, 1948, in Wilmington, DE to the late Everett LaPointe and Ida Elizabeth (Drury) LaPointe.

Beverly was a homemaker, who took great pleasure in taking care of her family. She loved attending church and was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. Beverly loved her flowers and was proud of her garden. She enjoyed travelling the country, especially Texas and Las Vegas. She loved taking her chances at the casinos. In her younger years, she enjoyed visiting beaches and going camping with her family. She will be remembered as a selfless and caring woman and will be missed by many.

Beverly is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, James Wayne Nowell, Sr.; son, James Wayne Nowell, Jr.; daughters: Patricia Herrin and her husband, Gary and Elizabeth McGhie and her husband, Stanley; grandchildren: Ashley Herrin, Jonathan Herrin and his wife, Victoria, Melanie Nowell, and Mason Nowell; great-grandchildren: Bently Kross Herrin and Tyler John Pawlick; and brother, Everette LaPointe.

A celebration of Beverly’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 259 W. Main Street, Elkton, MD where family and friends may begin visiting at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to, “Accent Care” at Christiana Care and sent in care of the funeral home.
