Beverly Ann Stein, age 83, of Chesapeake City, MD passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Saturday, July 26, 2025. She was born in Pottstown, PA on April 19, 1942, to the late Harold William Shanaman and the late Helen Bessie (McCullough) Shanaman.
Beverly dedicated her life to being a loving homemaker, nurturing her family with unwavering devotion. She loved her family and friends deeply. Beverly had a creative spirit, fascinating those around her with her beautiful ceramics and intricately woven baskets. She found great joy in baking, particularly during the holiday season when she lovingly prepared Christmas cookies that brought smiles to the faces of family and friends.
Beverly played the organ for many years at Town Point United Methodist Church, where her faith and commitment to her community were evident in her long-standing membership at the church.
Beverly’s adventurous spirit was evident through her love for the great outdoors. She cherished camping, hiking, fishing, clamming, and crabbing, always seeking out the beauty of nature. One of her favorite places was Rehoboth Beach, where she created countless memories with her loved ones. Birdwatching was yet another joy for Beverly; she took delight in feeding the birds and observing their vibrant lives.
Beverly was a cherished member of our community and a beloved friend and family member whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of many. She will be deeply missed by her family, and friends.
Beverly is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Robert “Chris” Stein; daughters: Kimberly Smith (husband, Michael), and Lisa Linnabary (husband, Bruce); grandchildren: Katherine Elvins, (husband, Ralph), Heather Vokes (husband, Ethan), Jared Harrison (wife, Kate), and Elizabeth Brown (husband, Kurtis); great-grandchildren: Jenavieve, Brielle, Cory, Kassandra, Bella, and Evander; sister, Margaret “Peg” Brower (husband, Donald); life long friend, Sandra Statzell; and adopted daughter, Barbara Kronner
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at 11:00 AM, at Trinity UMC, 450 3rd St, Chesapeake City, MD 21915, where family and friends may begin visiting at 10:00 AM.
