Bartolo F. Manzella was born on January 16, 1958 in Brooklyn, New York, son of John and Dorothy Manzella. He was beamed up to the final frontier on February 15, 2024. He is survived by his beloved sister, Vincenza Manzella, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many, many friends.
He was one of a kind. Some called him Bart, Bartolo and/or “The Man’zella” – but most knew him as Uncle Bart.
Because that’s what he was. Family. Regardless of blood. We lost count of how many “nieces and nephews” he had over the years. And the fact that he could be Godfather to some? After one of his favorite movie trilogies, that was a dream come true.
Always there to lend an ear and advice. ALWAYS there. A call away 100% of the time. All of the stories related with friends are a’plenty and they’re all gold.
The best cook. Food Booth Chef and purveyor of the “Walking Taco.” Filmmaker, movie buff- and critic. Produce stand salesman. #1 Star Trek fan. Poker Night Emcee. Jeopardy champ. Devout Sicilian. Howard Beach born and raised, Delaware and Maryland fixture. A farm guy through and through. Caring. So invested in kid’s lives, no matter who they belonged to. And SO much love for everyone he met at Carousel, Fairwinds and beyond.
He will be incredibly missed by all who knew him.
Hope to see you again, UB, somehow, somewhere. Ciao for now.
